Glorious Grace Ministries
There are currently more than 143 million orphans in the world. In addition, there are almost 246 million vulnerable children. These children are endangered by HIV/AIDS, abject poverty and other predators. These children are malnourished and feel the daily effects of not having parents to provide physical and emotional support. Due to poor living conditions, malnutrition, and diseases such as HIV, Kenya bears more than its fair share of these Orphaned, Vulnerable and Needy Children. Frequent droughts due to global warming and high cost of living due to world fuel effects affect the poor greatly.
Introduction
Glorious Grace Community Empowerment Program (GGCEP) is a program of Glorious Grace Assemblies Church which is a registered charitable organization based in Kenya, East Africa. We are registered by the government of Kenya as a society under section 10 of the societies Act.
GGCEP enables women, mostly those impacted by HIV/AIDS. The project targets mothers to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS and or its impact. This spares children from becoming orphans, or operating in impoverished areas. GGCEP commits to assisting the women to be self-employed, against the devastatingly high unemployment level. We blunt the edge of lack of information and the stigma associated with HIV/AIDS. We endeavor to ensure mom alive, healthy, employed and her vulnerable children from becoming orphaned.
Our target has primarily been focused on helping children in need and their families to meet the daily needs through community mobilization and awareness on issues surrounding: Health Care, Education, HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention, water and sanitation and micro enterprise. The organization also offers spiritual and development growth to the people we serve by working with local churches.
Currently we are raising support to assist our drought stricken brothers and sisters in Northern Kenya. We will be taking our food support to them in our mission week this August 22nd through to 26th.
