Training on Poverty Eradication at Ndeiya-Nguirubi

On 8th August 2011 Glorious Grace Ministries was training the community on poverty eradication at Nguirubi Mixed Secondary School in Ndeiya. The meeting was graced by the school administration, area District officer, Chiefs and assistant chiefs and members of the public.

Hope Against Hope

The sons of Jacob in Egypt When Jacob mentioned Egypt, his sons’ reaction betrayed their inner guilt. For 20 years, they had carried the burden of selling Joseph into slavery. Their faces revealed what words could not, the weight of conscience is visible in subtle expressions, and God often uses circumstances to confront our hidden sins. Jacob’s observed and asked his sons, why they were look at one another at the mention of the word Egypt. When Jacob saw that there was grain in Egypt, Jacob said to his sons, “Why do you look at one another?” (Genesis 42:1). This captured both his concern and the irony of the situation. The famine, while a negative event, was part of God’s plan. Even the sons’ jealousy and selfishness, though morally wrong, became tools that ultimately preserved the family and provided sustenance for the nations. Isaac repeats Abraham’s mistakes Although Isaac lived in the Promised Land, this did not translate to mean an easy life, free from hardship. God’s promises are true, but they do not eliminate difficulties, but assure God’s presence and guidance through challenges. Just as Abraham experienced a famine early in his journey of faith [Genesis 12:10], Isaac also encountered a famine in his own time. There was a famine in the land, besides the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went to Abimelech king of the Philistines, in Gerar (Genesis 26:1). Hardships can affect even those who are walking in God’s will. Famine was a serious crisis in the ancient world, crops failed, livestock died, and families faced hunger. Naturally, Isaac began to move south, likely seeking better conditions, just as his father had.
