Tell the righteous that
it shall be well (Series 3)
Say to the righteous
that it shall be well with them, for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.
11 Woe to the wicked! It shall be ill with him, For the reward of his hands
shall be given him (Isaiah 3:10, 11).
There is strength when we allow situations to
reveal to us what God may accomplish through us. Past victories, are evidence that
we can trust Him Who changes not.
Moreover, David said,
“The Lord, who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the
bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine (1 Samuel
17:37).
David believed in God Who was able to deliver him
from the bear and the lion. And therefore, he had a reference point. Therefore,
God does not allow situations in our lives without a purpose. More so, those
situations are meant to strengthen us, as we face more giants.
When God’s time of deliverance is on, God makes
everything beautiful and no situation, however bad would be able to stand
against Him.
This was the Lord’s
doing; It is marvelous in our eyes (Psalm 118:23).
The Lord’s deliverance is unmatched. It supersedes
our remotest imaginations. He comes with power and awesomeness. And no enemy
can stand His power.
When the Lord brought
back the captivity of Zion, we were like those who dream. 2 Then our mouth was
filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing. Then they said among
the nations, “The Lord has done great
things for them.” 3 The Lord has done great
things for us, and we are glad. 4 Bring back our captivity, O Lord, As the streams in the
South. 5 Those
who sow in tears shall reap in joy. 6 He who continually goes forth weeping, Bearing seed
for sowing, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, Bringing his
sheaves with him (Psalm 126).
The Israelites remembered the experience in
captivity and their deliverance from Babylon. And they proclaimed, it was like
one who dreams. The deliverance was overwhelming as it was exceedingly, superabundantly
above their prayers and imaginations.
Bring back our captivity, O Lord, As the streams in the
South (Psalm 126:4).
God given victory is not
just victory, but one that cannot be compared or reversed. It is like a
breakthrough of much water.
So David went to Baal
Perazim, and David defeated them there; and he said, “The Lord has broken
through my enemies before me, like a breakthrough of water.” Therefore, he
called the name of that place Baal Perazim (2 Samuel 5:20).
This encourages us not to despise our birthright.
Our birthright, that makes us a royal priesthood, a holy nation. Therefore, we
should live according to our ambassadorial calling, sojourners and foreigners
in all our undertakings, no matter what we’ll go through. When Esau despised
his birthright, he sold it to his brother at the price of a meal.
But Jacob said, “Sell me your
birthright as of this day.” 32 And Esau said, “Look, I am about to die; so what
is this birthright to me?” 33 Then Jacob said, “Swear to me as of this day.” So
he swore to him, and sold his birthright to Jacob (Genesis 25: 31-33).
Hold fast to the faith, despite the little
strength, we should not lose your birthright, which is of eternal value to
temporal pleasures or pressures. We must have a strong mind. In His time a door
awaits us if we hold on to Him.

‘These things says He who is holy, He who is true, “He who has the key of
David, He who opens and no one
shuts, and shuts and no one opens”: 8 “I know your works. See,
I have set before you an open door, and no one
can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not
denied My name…. Behold, I am
coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no
one may take your crown
(Revelations 3:7-14).
