Tell the righteous that
it shall be well Part 6
Say to the righteous
that it shall be well with them, for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.
11 Woe to the wicked! It shall be ill with him, For the reward of his hands
shall be given him (Isaiah 3:10, 11).
The need to be strong
and courageous
There
is great need to be strong and courageous, for the enemy of our souls seeks to
steal kill and destroy. Then, only those who are able to submit to God can be
able to resist him. Therefore, submit to
God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you (James 4:7). Theory of
delegation explain the process by which an authority transfer responsibility to
another in order to achieve result. The concept is highlighted by the Centurion
in the City of Capernaum. For
I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this
one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my
servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it (Matthew 8:9). Indicating, that he
commanded the soldiers because in the first instance, he had submitted to the
authority. When we submit to God, we operate under His power and authority.
The enemy strategy is to weaken us
One of the enemy’s strategy is to weaken us, so that we may get discouraged and disappointed and lose our faith.
And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. 32 But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.” (Luke 22:31-32). Failing in strength should not be an option in life. We must stay put, despite the challenges. In the old technology of developing photos, films were exposed using an analogue camera then developed in a darkroom. So, must our faith be developed in dark seasons of life. As after the season of darkness we enjoy great victory. For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning (Psalm 30:5). Thus, the enemy strategizes to discourage us so that by the dawn, when we ought to breakthrough, we lack strength to grasp the victory.Stay strong and focused on the goal
Isaiah
37 speaks of Sennacherib; king of Assyria who sent a discouraging word through his
servant Rabshakeh to King Hezekiah. Based on his military might and past
victories he was able to intimidate and send shivers down the veins of King
Hezekiah. The strategy almost worked as intended; King Hezekiah saw the desperate
situation and lacked the strength to push for his breakthrough. And they said to him, “Thus says Hezekiah:
‘This day is a day of trouble and rebuke and blasphemy; for the children have
come to birth, but there is no strength to bring them forth (Isaiah 37:3).
Nonetheless, I thank God for King Hezekiah. Though the reality was dark and
hopeless, he focused on the City of Refuge. He called on God; The Lord is a man of war; The Lord is His
name (Exodus 15:3).
As the king of Assyria focused on his horses and chariots, King Hezekiah trusted in God. In return, God delivered Israel with His Mighty, Righteous, Right Hand. Then the angel of the Lord went out, and killed in the camp of the Assyrians one hundred and eighty-five thousand; and when people arose early in the morning, there were the corpses all dead (Isaiah 37:36-38). As it was prophesied Sennacherib died of the sword in his home. His sons killed him as he was worshiping his idols. The situation may be dark, but the end of a matter is better than the beginning. Having done all that we could do. Let us be still and see the deliverance of the Lord. The end of a thing is better than its beginning; The patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit. Do not hasten in your spirit to be angry, For anger rests in the bosom of fools (Ecclesiastes 7:8-9). God is faithful to open doors for the righteous, even when their strength is spent. “I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name (Revelation 3:8).
